CAMPING GEAR TO DEAL WITH THE POWER OUTAGES
Fortunately, we have a lot of camping gear that came in handy during these power outages. Below is a list of those things that were the most useful. You may want to spend a little bit of money to get some just in case. I will include links to the items on Amazon.
Anker Portable Charger – charges your cell phone and other things with USB ports very quickly. This is a must.

Rechargeable Headlamp – for roaming around in pitch blackness

LE LED Camping Lantern – good for feeding the dogs, cooking, etc. You can hang it in a spot that will illuminate a pretty good area.

Mini Camping Lantern/flashlight – doubles as a lantern and a flashlight

Camping toaster – don’t laugh. If you have a gas stove, this comes in very handy.

Columbia Omni-Heat Men’s Midweight Stretch Baselayer Long Sleeve Shirt (This shirt has something like a thermal blanket inside – keeps you very warm) I normally use this for whitewater kayaking in the cold weather, but it really came in handy for the recent weather. When we walked on the nature trail, I actually broke a sweat

Columbia Titanium Thunderstrike Jacket – this is a great jacket with a thermal lining. You can scrunch it up and pack it into a small carrying case if need be.

I had other clothing I used for skiing, but I haven’t used them in a few years– I think they shrank in the closet! That’s gotta be the explanation.
