Louisville Slugger 1955 New York Yankees ALCS Black Bat

I’m a Mets fan, not a Yankees fan! Nonetheless, when I was 8 years old, my father managed to get one of these bats.

Although losing in the World Series, the 1955 New York Yankees took home their twenty-first pennant this season, behind the management of Casey Stengel. The offered Louisville Slugger American League Champions model bat is black with gold lettering stating all of the player’s names from the squad, including Casey Stengel. Measuring 35″, the World series “Black Bat” was given to participating players from teams in the world series, league officials, high-ranking executives and dignitaries. It was not available to the general public.

This same bat in near-new condition will sell for more than $1200. The black paint and gold lettering has faded a bit on my bat but it can easily be restored.
