The Palmetto Dunes Pickleball Center on Hilton Head Island is a great facility. Unfortunately, we went in November where we encountered wind – a lot of wind – and occasional rain. November, it seems, is not the time to go.
We rented a pet-friendly home inside the facility, so we got access to the courts for a few hours a day, and could participate in the clinics.
Regarding dining, there are a few good choices, one of which is Alexander’s Restaurant & Wine Bar. Alexander’s is Palmetto Dunes’ own upscale seafood restaurant and wine bar, featuring seasonally-inspired cuisine, locally-caught seafood, and many locally-sourced ingredients. It is great for “senior citizens” because, starting in November, there are early dining hours.
Mostly, though, we cooked on our own in the home we rented.
The Tennis & Pickleball Pro Shop offers an nice array of clothing, accessories, and equipment for tennis and pickleball players of all levels; however, the focus is clearly on tennis players.
