Introduction
The general consensus about the SELKIRK Omni Wide Body is that it’s an aggressive all-court paddle designed as a more controllable and forgiving alternative to the ultra-powerful Boomstik.
After spending time with it, I’d say that’s a fair assessment.
The Omni offers excellent control while still generating plenty of power. It also feels noticeably lighter than the Boomstik, making it quicker through the air during fast exchanges. One feature I particularly appreciated is Selkirk’s adjustable weighting system. Unlike the Boomstik, whose weights can only be removed, the Omni’s side weights can be repositioned to tune the paddle’s balance and swing weight. That’s a significant advantage for players who like to customize their equipment.

Pros and Cons
Pros
Adjustable MOI Weighting
The removable 7.5-gram weights can be attached, removed, or repositioned, allowing you to fine-tune balance, swing weight, and twist weight to match your playing style. It’s one of the most useful customization systems currently available.
Extremely Forgiving
The wide-body design creates an exceptionally large sweet spot and a very high twist weight. Even off-center hits remain remarkably stable, with very little paddle twisting.
Controllable Power
The Omni has more than enough power to finish points, but unlike some of today’s “rocket launchers,” it doesn’t feel overly springy. Drives, third-shot drops, resets, and kitchen play all remain predictable and easy to control.
Excellent Spin
This was probably my favorite characteristic of the paddle. The Omni generates outstanding topspin on drives and serves, allowing me to hit heavy, high-kicking shots that consistently pushed opponents deeper behind the baseline. I also found it easy to produce aggressive topspin returns when the opportunity presented itself.
Cons
Premium Price
At $300, the Omni sits firmly in the premium category. It’s an investment, although Selkirk’s lifetime warranty helps soften the blow.
Wide Body Design
Players who strongly prefer elongated paddles for additional reach may not enjoy the Omni’s wider shape.

Performance
The Omni is simply an excellent all-around paddle.
It has plenty of power for drives, put-aways, and overheads while maintaining the touch needed for third-shot drops, resets, and transition-zone play. I never felt like I had to fight the paddle to keep the ball under control.
The spin potential really stood out. I was able to generate heavy topspin on serves and drives with very little effort. Those high-kicking serves consistently forced opponents to start points farther behind the baseline—which is exactly where you want them. The same was true on aggressive topspin returns when the opportunity arose.
At the kitchen line, the Omni was equally impressive. Hand battles felt fast and controlled, with plenty of pop when I needed it. In fact, I slightly preferred it to the Boomstik in firefights, probably because the lighter swing weight allowed me to react just a bit quicker.
Overall, the paddle felt exceptionally balanced. It never excelled in one area at the expense of another, which is exactly what many all-court players are looking for.
Bottom Line
The Selkirk Omni Wide Body is one of the best-balanced all-court paddles I’ve played.
It combines excellent touch, outstanding forgiveness, impressive spin, and more than enough power to finish points. While I didn’t find it dramatically more powerful than several competing premium paddles, I was consistently impressed by how easy it was to control and how forgiving it remained on off-center contact.
If your game revolves around resets, third-shot drops, topspin, and quick hands at the kitchen, the Omni deserves to be on your short list.
Yes, it’s expensive. But Selkirk’s lifetime warranty and the paddle’s versatility make it a premium option that’s worth serious consideration for intermediate and advanced players.

Discounts?
Unfortunately, Selkirk rarely discounts its newest premium paddles.
However, if you’re planning to buy directly from Selkirk, you can use ADV-GREGORYH at checkout. It won’t reduce the price of the paddle itself, but it does give you a $40 credit toward a future Selkirk purchase. I’m planning to use mine to try a pair of their pickleball shoes.
