My wife and I, on a trip to Cumming, decided to check out the courts at Coal Mountain Park. The address is 3560 Settingdown Road, Cumming, GA 30028.
Bedore, I discuss the park, let me discuss Cumming first. The population of Cumming in 2024 was 10, 175. However, look at the image below and see how the population is exploding.
So, that’s not a lot of people, but the city traffic seemed heavy no what time of day it was. There are, in my opinion, a number of reasons for that. There is every, and I mean EVERY, kind of store you might want to find in Cumming, ant the restaurants are numerous and excellent.
So, what about pickleball? At my home courts in Blairsville, at 9 AM, the stacking system could be in use because the courts have gotten crowded.
Here is what the courts in Cumming looked like at 9 AM.
There are six courts, only two of which were in use. The building in the back contains restrooms and changing rooms. This is a spectacular facility.
The locals have an open play policy – if you and your partner win, you break up and two other players go onto the court.
Anyway, when we showed up, were immediately invited to play.
If you ever are in, or near Cumming, you owe it to yourself to check out the courts.
