Introduction
“Elongated Filth: More Handle. More Power. More Game.”
A few years ago, I picked up my first Filth paddle, and it quickly became my go-to choice. I loved it — but I always found myself wishing for an elongated handle to make my two-handed backhand more comfortable.
Well, the team at Bread and Butter listened. They’ve just released an elongated version of the Filth, and it’s everything I hoped for.

What’s New?
The longer handle offers two big advantages:
- Two-Handed Backhands: If you use a two-hander like I do, the extra handle length provides much-needed comfort and stability.
- Increased Power: Thanks to basic physics, a longer handle acts like a longer lever. It gives you a mechanical advantage — meaning you can generate more power with less effort. Swing easy for pace, or swing hard and really drive the ball.
Despite the longer design, the paddle doesn’t feel heavy in hand. Although its swing weight is slightly on the higher side, it feels well-balanced. Compared to a similar paddle I tested, which felt “bottom-heavy,” the elongated Filth is “central-heavy,” offering a more neutral, controlled feel.
On-Court Performance
Power: The elongated Filth feels just as powerful as the Invader (my current main paddle). You can really unleash on your drives.
Touch and Feel: Around the net, it’s soft and responsive. Third-shot drops and resets feel natural.
Spin: Spin generation is excellent, especially on serves.
Firefights: In fast hands battles, the paddle shines. The swing weight helps you punch volleys back with minimal effort — sometimes you just need to meet the ball to win the exchange.
Sound: Interestingly, the paddle is quite quiet — though I’m not exactly sure why!

Final Thoughts
The Elongated Filth builds on what made the original Filth so great — and somehow makes it even better. It’s one of the best all-around paddles on the market today, especially if you want extra power and two-handed backhand comfort without sacrificing touch.
The price of the paddle is $165, which is middle of the road for performance paddles.
