DEALING WITH THE POWER
As you will read in my review, I had a bit of a problem adjusting to the power of this paddle. The problem was, I think, that I try to hit with us much top spin as I can. I do that by using an exaggerated low-to-high swing. Today, my first serve flew three feet past the base line, so I made an adjustment. I used a less exaggerated low-to-high swing and that solved the problem. One of my opponents admitted that my serves were coming in harder than usual. If you are having an issue, try my solution.
Introduction
Back in January, I tested the Body Helix F1 Terracore Paddle—a powerhouse that rivaled the Gearbox Pro in raw power while offering better forgiveness and control. Unfortunately, its performance was too potent, causing it to fail USAP’s PBCOR score requirements. At the time, Body Helix was tight-lipped about their Terracore™ technology, leaving many questions unanswered.
Now, the brand has refined its design with the F1 Elongated Paddle featuring TerraCoreXC™, a USAP-approved version that not only meets regulations (PBCOR score: 0.43) but surpasses its predecessor in power—something I didn’t think was possible.

First Impressions: Controlled Power
After two days of play, one thing is clear: This paddle can be a rocket launcher. My usual topspin serves—hit with a low-to-high motion—were sailing deep at first. But with minor adjustments, I quickly dialed in the control, keeping aggressive serves in play without sacrificing spin.
Performance: Brutal Power, Delicate Touch
Despite its explosive drive, the F1 Elongated remains shockingly soft in finesse situations:
- Dinks & Resets – Effortless control, even in fast hands battles.
- Third-shot drops – Precision placement with minimal effort.
- Groundstrokes & Serves – Unmatched pop, yet no harsh vibrations.
The secret? TerraCoreXC™ technology—a perfect marriage of power and feel.

Why EPP Foam Matters
Most paddles use EVA foam, but USAP bans it for being too “springy.” Instead, Body Helix opted for Expanded Polypropylene (EPP) Foam, which offers:
- High compressive strength (no excessive rebound)
- Superior energy absorption (zero vibration)
- Durability (long-term consistency)
Yes, EPP is more expensive than EVA—expect this tech in premium paddles only.
The Perforation Advantage

Unlike the Diadem Vice (which has visible holes), the F1 Elongated’s perforations are internal. This design:
✔ Maintains power (thanks to EPP’s strength)
✔ Enhances softness (for touch shots)
✔ Avoids structural weakness (no through-holes)
Final Verdict
The Body Helix F1 Elongated Paddle is a rare beast: aggressive power with surgical precision. If you want a paddle that dominates drives and excels in soft play and is USAP approved, this is a top-tier contender.
Who’s It For?
