Bread and Butter Wild Thang Paddle Review

INTRODUCTION

Bread and Butter Pickleball Co. (BNB) has done it again—their latest release, the Wild Thang, delivers the exceptional quality and performance that players have come to expect from the brand. If you’re looking for a paddle that balances power, control, and durability, this one deserves serious consideration.

OVERVIEW: HOW IT COMPARES

The Wild Thang holds its own against two of BNB’s standout paddles—the Invader and the Filth (one of the most popular paddles on the market). In my testing, it offered slightly more power than the Invader and even outperformed the Filth in raw pop. All three share that satisfying, explosive “CRACK!” on contact—music to a power player’s ears.

But does extra power mean sacrificing control? Not at all. During my matches, the Wild Thang handled third-shot drops with precision, even under pressure. In dink battles (mostly cross-court), it remained reliable, and when I needed to reset down the line or middle, the paddle responded beautifully.

One unexpected standout? My two-handed backhand felt noticeably stronger. Whether it was the paddle’s construction or just a confidence boost, my opponents commented on the added zip—so it wasn’t just in my head!

Finally, in firefights (a lot of which I had today) I was able to redirect the ball with little or not effort.

FINAL VERDICT

There’s no such thing as a “bad” BNB paddle—just great paddles and even greater ones. The Wild Thang firmly lands in the “greater” category, delivering a near-perfect blend of power, control, and durability. After testing it in real-game scenarios, I’m thoroughly impressed.
